MEFA Financial Aid and College Planning Night 12/9/13

Parents and seniors are invited to MEFA Financial Aid Night on Monday, December 9th, 2013 at 6:30pm in the Jenkins Auditorium. This program is offered through the MHS School Counseling Department and MEFA, the Commonwealth’s resource on planning, saving and paying for college. An experienced MEFA representative will provide an overview of the financial aid process, including types of financial aid, how to apply, and determining financing options for your family. Families are encouraged to download a copy of the PowerPoint Presentation or e-book beforehand at www.mefa.org/seniors. Translators will be available for support.

 This is an important part of the Post-Secondary Planning Process.

MHS Summer School Information

College Fair for Juniors and Seniors

If you are interested in attending the Hispanic College Fair at Regis College on Wednesday, November 14 from 9:00-12, please see Mrs. Lipinski in the Holland House office before Monday, November 12. You must get a permission slip from Mrs. Lipinski and sign-up. Space is limited so don’t wait!

Class of 2013 Post-Secondary Planning Night for Students and Families

On Thursday, October 4th at 6:30pm in the Jenkins Auditorium, the MHS School Counseling Department will be hosting Senior Post-Secondary Planning Night for students and families. At this event, participants will learn everything you need to know about the college admissions process and planning for the future. Admissions Counselors from local colleges, universities, and training programs will also be on-hand to share words of wisdom and experience. Hope to see you at this important event!

Good luck to MHS Softball!

The School Counseling department would like to wish the Malden High School Girls’ Varsity Softball team good luck in their State Championship game this Saturday! The team has been an excellent representation of Malden High School and the Malden community. Their dedication, passion, and hard work have been evident all season long!

Anyone who wishes to support the softball team can attend their game on Saturday, 7pm at Worcester State University. There will be a fan bus leaving from Malden High School at 4pm (free of charge). The cost for admission to the game is $10 for adults and $7 for students.

Junior College Visits!

Attention 11th graders,

Are you interested in visiting a college and learning more about the college application process? Sign up for one of the April College Trips at the College and Career Center in B337 today!

You can sign up for one of the following:
Thursday April 26: Endicott College   or   Friday April 27: UMass Boston

The deadline to sign up for a college trip is April 5th or until all spots are filled. After you sign up, you will need to fill out a permission slip and attend a mandatory lesson prior to the trip. Lessons are offered at 2:30pm on Thursday March 29, Thursday April 5 and Thursday April 12 in the College and Career Center. Please see Ms. Wan or Ms. Thinn in the College and Career Center (B337).
