AP Pre-Registration Workshop at MHS!

ALL students enrolled in AP courses are required to attend the AP Pre-Registration Workshop on Wednesday, April 16th at 2:20pm in Cafeteria B. If students are unable to attend because of work, family commitments, activities, athletics, etc…all have been told, via AP Exam letter, to make arrangements with Ms. Karamcheti PRIOR to Wednesday.


MEFA After the Acceptance at MHS 4/10/14


On Thursday, April 10th at 11am in the Jenkins Auditorium, seniors are invited to attend the After the Acceptance Seminar with MEFA. This seminar will help students understand and analyze the financial aid you’ve been offered, determine how to pay the balance of your bill, and how to choose the right financing options for your situation. Please feel free to bring your financial aid award letters as there will be time for individual consultation.


College Application Reminder!

Attention Seniors!

Please keep in mind you must send your own SAT scores to every college you are applying to through www.collegeboard.org.
Do this as soon as possible! It may take up to two weeks for your colleges to process the scores.

MEFA Financial Aid and College Planning Night 12/9/13

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE: Monday, December 9th, 2013 @ 6:30pm

Parents and seniors are invited to MEFA Financial Aid Night on Monday, December 9th, 2013 at 6:30pm in the Jenkins Auditorium. This program is offered through the MHS School Counseling Department and MEFA, the Commonwealth’s resource on planning, saving and paying for college. An experienced MEFA representative will provide an overview of the financial aid process, including types of financial aid, how to apply, and determining financing options for your family. Families are encouraged to download a copy of the PowerPoint Presentation or e-book beforehand at www.mefa.org/seniors. Translators will be available for support.

 This is an important part of the Post-Secondary Planning Process.

College and Career Readiness Workshops for Seniors!

Attention Seniors!

Your guidance department will be hosting a series of  College & Career Readiness Workshops every Tuesday afternoon this semester. Please stop by H206 (the computer lab) anytime between 2:15-3:00 pm on Tuesdays for help with the Common Application, resume writing, college searches, TOEFL registration, or SAT registration.

Hispanic College Fair Trip!

If you are interested in attending the Hispanic College Fair at Regis College on Tuesday, October 1st from 9:00am-noon, please see Mrs. Lipinski in the Holland House office before Friday, September 27th. You must get a permission slip from Mrs. Lipinski and sign-up. Space is limited so don’t wait! This is an amazing opportunity to start the college process and learn about many different colleges and universities.

SAT and ACT registration deadlines approaching!

Attention all Juniors wanting to take the June 1, 2013 SAT

The last day to register for the June 1 SAT is Thursday, May 2 at 11:59pm. If you are a Junior and want/need to take the June 1st, you must register by this date.

The last day to register for the June 8th ACT is this Friday, May 3 at 11:59pm. If you are a junior and want to take the June 8th test here at MHS, you must register by this Friday.


Fee waivers are available for the SAT and ACT from your counselor for those who are eligible.  Don’t pay a late charge, register today!

Class of 2014 College & Career Night for Students and Families

On Thursday, April 25th at 6:30pm in the Jenkins Auditorium, the MHS School Counseling Department will be hosting Junior College and Career Planning Night for students and families. At this event participants will learn everything you need to know about planning for life after high school. The guidance department will present, as well as Admissions Counselors from local colleges, universities, and training programs. All will be on-hand to share words of wisdom and experience.
